Campbell Laird

Bio

Award-winning Los Angeles based Tasmanian artist Campbell Laird has been recognized by museum curators from SFMOMA, MOCA and LACMA for his meditative abstractions, sculptures & prints. His works appear in private collections across the globe, from NYC to modernist homes in the Hollywood Hills, London, Sydney, Madrid and Tokyo. For over 30 years, Laird has created artworks for major corporations, including Estee Lauder, American Express and 20th Century Fox, Torrance Art Museum, the Art Group and the Beverly Hilton. Campbell's artwork was featured in the Dwell Magazine Case Study home, as well in Modernism, Los Angeles Magazine among many others. Campbell also works directly with collectors, high end architects, designers and art consultants to provide his unique pieces for galleries, commercial & public spaces or speciality retailers. Born and raised in Hobart, Tasmania, Laird played with a successful rock band and travelled extensively through Europe, US and Australia. Owing to extreme tiredness and a distaste for malodorous hotel rooms, Laird retired from the high life and settled in New York City where he attended Parsons The New School of Design, School of Visual Arts & lived for more than 30 years creating award winning imagery for gallery, editorial, corporate and advertising clients throughout the world. In 2005, he moved to Venice, CA for the air, the light, the sea and a beautiful new studio.
